Guidance lab organised crime 7: How to improve the organisation of focused deterrence (focused deterrence)
The EUCPN–ENAA Secretariat is organising weekly Guidance Labs aimed at bringing together practitioners to discuss key topics and challenges related to youth recruitment. Each session will focus on a specific theme—such as youth diversion, focused deterrence, or online takedowns—providing practitioners with an opportunity to share feedback, exchange experiences, and help refine practical guidelines. The insights gathered during these Labs will support the Secretariat in further developing the EUCPN–ENAA toolkit on youth recruitment into organised crime, ensuring the toolkit remains relevant and useful for the prevention workforce.
Each Lab will last up to 1.5 hours and will include no more than 12 participants. To ensure focused and meaningful discussions, we seek practitioners and decision makers with hands-on experience at the national, regional, or local level.
Registration is available via an online form: EUCPN-ENAA Guidance Lab: organised crime – Fill out form. Participants will be selected based on their profile, experience, and geographical area to ensure a diverse range of perspectives. Selected participants will receive an email several weeks in advance containing the meeting link and background information on the topic. The deadline for registration for each Guidance Lab is two weeks in advance.
Guidance lab organised crime: Focused deterrence
Lab 7: How to improve the organisation of focused deterrence (25 February; 14:00 - 15:30 CET; online)
The toolkit discusses 8 steps to prepare, implement and monitor the implementation of focused deterrence. This lab will examine of these steps are all encompassing and whether practical information is missing for local entities to replicate a focused deterrence initiative.
In terms of participants, we welcome those that have experience in using focused deterrence and those without experience that would be interested in replicating such initiatives.
